Senior Cyber Security Analyst (Permanent)

Location: Kent Country: UK Rate: £50k - £60k per annum

Senior Cyber Security Analyst/Threat Intelligence/Days role, no shifts/South East, Kent

Access IT Recruitment are working with a Cyber Consultancy who are expanding their Security Operations Centre in the South East, Kent.

As the Senior Cyber Security Analyst within the team you will be responsible for the detection of threats to an external customer base. You will analyse the latest Threat Intelligence to proactively identify areas of potential compromise, tuning systems and process to alert to issues and assisting with the identification of remediation activities.

As the Senior Analyst within the department you will ..

  • Act as escalation point and provide technical support to junior colleagues and customers

  • Act as Incident Hunter in alignment with the MITRE ATT&CK Framework

  • Development and implementation of threat detection analytics

  • Drive on/post boarding tuning activities aligning to best practice and customer risk profile

  • Investigate and monitor SIEM platform (QRadar & LogRythym)

  • Provide security related recommendations to SME's as threat events unfold

  • Ensure technical security improvements are effective and maintained within configuration management structures

  • Understanding Vulnerability Data and alignment to customers threat potential

Experienced required

  • Essential Experience of on-boarding, tuning, reporting and configuring SIEM solutions (Ideally with IBM QRadar but this isn't essential)

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills

  • Always remaining updated on new threats and developing security standards

  • Strong communication skills, experience working with customers during incidents and to improve security posture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SANS Certifications

  • Active or ability to obtain SC clearance

The salary on offer for this role is up to £60,000 per annum but there is flexibility for the right candidate. Please note this is a day's role and there is no shift work involved. There is an on-call rota which is 1 week in 4.
