Senior Network Engineer - London - £60,000 (Permanent)

Location: London Country: UK Rate: £57k - £60k per annum

Senior Network Engineer - near London Bridge, central London - up to £60,000 plus on call.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Network Engineer to join a successful datacentre and cloud telecommunications provider going through an exciting period of growth.

The successful candidate will ideally be CCNP qualified (or have equivalent experience). You with work on a wide variety of enterprise networks with a focus on Firewalls, on -site Routers/Switches and Wi-Fi. You will also work on data centre infrastructure, manage network device config, patches and firmware and support clients in BAU work, change, break-fix and installations of new services.

To be suitable for this role you must have extensive PALO ALTO OR CISCO ASA Firewalls experience.

You will also have experience in providing 3rd line support to the following

*Cisco Routers, Cisco Extreme Switches
*Network patching/racking of equipment
*Experienced reviewing, revising and agreeing complex network designs with customers
*Routing protocols including OSPF and BGP
*Knowledge of TCP/IP (both IPv4 and IPv6)
*IPec VPNs
*Redundancy protocols such as HSRP/VRRP
*Security principles and Firewall techniques, eg application-based rules, SSL inspection
*User authentication technologies such as RADIUS and 802.1x

As well as this, you will have experience with at least ONE of the following:

*Managed Wi-Fi solutions, eg Cisco, Meraki, Aerohive, Ruckus, Ubiquiti
*Cisco ISE or any other NAC implementation
*Integration with customer application and infrastructure environments, eg Active Directory
*LAN switching, including switch stacks
*Config/Patch Management

You will occasionally need to produce documentation and create operating procedures to support the network environment.

This role will suit a proactive, highly organised and decisive individual with excellent communication skills as you will be responsible for managing relationships with third party suppliers and providing additional training where necessary to more junior members of the team.

You will need to be available to provide on-call support for customers and their networks on rota basis (currently one week in four).
