IT Operator (Permanent)

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne Country: UK Rate: £18755 - £23316 per annum

We are looking for a hard-working IT Operator to join a leading Fintech organisation within the Northeast.

This is a rare opportunity for recent graduates or Junior IT profressionals who are looking to kick-start their careers within the industry with a fantastic organisation.

You will be responsible for the day to day IT processing and system monitoring across the operational area and will play a key part in performing batch processing on the IBM I and ensuring backups across the IT estate have completed as expected.

What you will do:
* Ensure all daily task are completed for the group and all 3rd party clients
* Ensure all backups have completed as expected
* Perform monitoring of all key IT Services and Infrastructure as per procedures
* Create and maintain department procedures
* Generate and publish daily departmental MI
* Monitor and maintain the ITS Calendar and mailbox for any work request or requests for new entries
* Monitor Assyst for incoming work requests and complete requests in an accurate and timely manner
* Be prepared to perform driving duties using vehicles supplied by the group
* Monitor the log hardening server, ensuring it is operational and highlighting any anomalies for further investigation
* To assist in the training of new IT Operators
* Represent the department in Projects/meetings as required
* Provide coverage of the IT Helpdesk phone line

Who you will be:
* Excellent communicator with clear and concise written and spoken communication
* Abilities to manage a high volume of workload and able to multitask
* Ability to produce accurate work and have great attention to detail
* Commitment to continuous improvement and identify process improvements
* Experience working within an IT environment
* Experience of working to a high level of accuracy
* Experience of working on own initiative
* Able to drive with a full driving license
* Basic knowledge of Financial services industry
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
* Hold and IT qualification
