Service Designer - London and remote working (Permanent)

Location: London Country: UK Rate: Competitive salary + bonuses.

Service Designer required to join a highly successful, global digital transformation consultancy who are experiencing rapid growth. They are looking for a mid-level Service Designer, to work on high-profile transformation programmes on a permanent basis. Our client is as unique as you are, growing rapidly, and the team brings genuine, impactful change to a vast portfolio of public and private sector organisations.

The role

You'll help shape and deliver services on behalf of organisations that impact the daily lives of millions of people across the UK, through ensuring user experience improvements are at the heart of every decision.

You'll bring your passion and expertise to an established cohort of energetic, smart and capable delivery professionals who believe passionately in making the hard things happen'. You'll be instrumental in creating meaningful experiences through deep research, user-centred design and problem-solving. This will be at the heart of all your work with ours and our client's delivery teams as we work towards transforming public and private sector organisations and the experience of their users.

You are a Service Designer who can turn your focus to digitally led, technology driven, business transformation programmes, whilst still considering and designing for the people and processes in the backstage support space. You will actively contribute to an interdisciplinary delivery team that includes other Service Designers, User Researchers, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Brand Strategists and Hardware and Software Developers. You will be part of a highly engaging, fast-paced, agile environment, where there is a strong commitment to providing pragmatic, sleeves-rolled-up expertise, and where people have the opportunity to flex within their strengths and interests to achieve continued personal growth.

You should possess following skills and abilities:

  • Experience in leading a human-centred design approach including analysis, exploration, storytelling, generative research and usability testing
  • Understanding of how to engage teams and run workshops that bring the user to the centre, defining an optimum service experience
  • Proven skills in using a range of Service Design tools and supporting methodologies
  • Proven and demonstrable experience in translating customer/user needs, research findings and business requirements into compelling, efficient and highly usable services and presenting findings back to the business in a meaningful way
  • Ability to create appropriate artefacts including Service Design Blueprints, illustrated Journey Maps, Concept Designs, Service Experience prototypes, Empathy Maps and Value Proposition Proposals for the creation of products and services
  • Experienced in the development of scenarios and service blueprints that describe end-to-end user experience, touch points and Back End service delivery systems
  • Able to run and support productive workshops and be able to draw from a range of different methods and techniques to help plan and elicit the best outcomes
  • Can analyse, process and synthesise raw material into deliverables, strategies and actionable recommendations; help businesses learn from users to continually improve products and services
  • Support and/or conduct the collection and analysis of user behaviours via appropriate qualitative and quantitative methods, such as usability studies, interviews, and surveys
