United Kingdom - GBP Permanent Posted: Saturday, 11 August 2018
UWE Bristol is an ambitious university. Together, our people are working hard to advance knowledge, inspire people and transform futures. We are looking for people with the skills and ambition to help us achieve those aims.

We are a well-established university, with over 29,000 students, 250,000 alumni and 3,000 staff. UWE Bristol is one of the largest providers of Higher Education in the South West. We are globally connected and regionally embedded, with strong employer and partner connections. Students come to study with us from all over the UK, as well as from 140 different countries, making this a diverse and interesting place to study. We achieved 89% overall student satisfaction in the NSS in 2018, this excellent result puts us as the top university in the South West and in 7th place nationally.

Bristol itself is a hub of social and cultural activity and is a big pull for students and employers alike. A place with a strong, creative and fiercely independent mindset. A city with a buzzing music scene, great restaurants and interesting business ventures. It's not surprising Bristol is consistently named as one of the best places to live and work in the UK.

We have a current intern opportunity for a recent UWE graduate or current postgraduate student to work 1 day per week on a fixed term basis.

The purpose of the internship is to assist with the day to day running of the UWE Academic Journey project. The intern will work closely with 1st year students, supporting them to improve their research skills, respond to queries from the participants, co-develop and co-deliver training sessions and analysis workshops, read and analyse student blogs, collate and analyse data and contribute to the final project report.

To be eligible for this post you should be either a recent UWE graduate or current postgraduate student ideally in a social sciences discipline and have a thorough understanding of the principles of research.

In addition to progressive pay rates we offer a wide range of staff benefits which includes a holiday allowance of 25 days pro rata, up to 12.5 bank holiday/closure days per year, flexible working, excellent defined benefit pension schemes, and a range of family friendly policies.

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give our students access to everything they need to succeed - with £300m being spent on new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation between now and 2020 to enhance our offer even further. Frenchay campus is within close proximity to excellent motorway links and within walking distance of two train stations, making UWE Frenchay Campus the ideal place to work for those wishing to commute to Bristol.

Please see the attached full job description and information for applicants for the role.
