Full Stack Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript/AWS) - Contract
Contract: 6 months
Rate: Up to £95 per hour (Inside IR35, 37.5 hrs/week)
Location: Hybrid - 1 day per week onsite in Manchester

Digital Skills are working with a superb client, a Technology Business with a global presence. They are looking for a Full Stack Engineer to support the evolution of a high-traffic, customer-facing search and discovery platform.

This is a Back End-leaning full stack role, with a strong focus on Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS, alongside contributions to modern Front End applications built with frameworks such as React. You'll work on distributed, cloud-native systems that are central to the business's commercial performance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production Back End services using Node.js and TypeScript
• Build and run cloud-native systems on AWS using managed services and observability tooling
• Contribute to microservices and event-driven architectures, designing clear APIs and service contracts
• Deliver complex, end-to-end features across Back End services and Front End applications
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams
• Uphold high standards around testing, performance, reliability, and security
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making

Required Experience

• 5+ years' professional software development experience
• Strong Server Side experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Hands-on experience building and running systems on AWS (or another major cloud)
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems
• Working knowledge of modern Front End frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js)
• Solid engineering fundamentals: testing, observability, performance, and maintainability
• Excellent communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with search, discovery, marketplace, or E-commerce platforms
• Background working on high-traffic, consumer-facing products
• Experience mentoring or acting as a technical lead within a team
