We are offering full training and entry onto the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, Register of IT Technicians confirming Level 3 professional competence.

Level 3 IT Technician Apprentice

As part of a small team you will be reporting to the Head of Systems & I.T. The Systems and IT team support our infrastructure as a fast growing, forward thinking recruitment company who specialise in recruiting within the medical industry globally.

The role will give you practical exposure to develop, implement and maintain complete IT solutions such as hardware infrastructure and software.

You will be expected to apply professional methodology or frameworks to enable the business to gather and analyse data.

Day to day requirements for your role will include:

  • to design, develop, test, and implement IT solutions
  • provide ongoing support both directly to end users and for the underlying IT services
  • specific tasks will vary depending on the needs of the wider team at any particular time
  • some tasks may be very technical, others may be more analytical, business or user focused

Initially you will undertake duties across the complete IT solution, working on the team's core activities. After completing common core principles and developing a thorough understanding of the department's requirements you will then choose one of two options which will be discussed at interview.

The role

This is a Full time employed position that will be wholly supported internally with contextual job-based training and development as well as being fully supported by our apprentice training partner, who offers a structured and modular apprentice scheme.

We are an experienced apprentice provider and have many members of our team who initially joined us as apprentices and have gone on to develop with the business.

You will have the opportunity to take part in projects that have a direct impact on the company's performance. Our I.T infrastructure is integral to the business and your work will be tied to tangible results. You will be able to see the positive impact that your work has on the company and your colleagues.

This is a new role within the team and one offering exceptional opportunities for development and growth. Our business is continually adapting and we are looking for a talented individual who can add value and talent to a vital area of the company.

Your responsibilities as IT Solutions Technician Apprentice:

  • Data Surgery
Manipulating large data sets, importing and updating data into the CRM
  • SQL Server manipulation
To carry out database queries, updates and various data surgery tasks. There is a regular need for new data reports to be created to provide company management with visibility of various subsets of data.
  • Project development

An opportunity to be involved in bespoke and unique solutions-based development projects

  • Database maintenance
Creating database maintenance activities, triggered via end user interactions with the database or timed schedules to ensure that database integrity isn't disrupted.

Administering database access for staff within the business and troubleshooting end user difficulties with the database software.

Being the first port of call for IT troubleshooting and support in the office.

To succeed in this role we believe you will need the following attributes:

  • Passion for I.T and systems
  • Hunger of learning and developing new skills
  • Exposure to the Microsoft Office suite of products would be highly beneficial
  • Knowledge or interest in SQL server technology is a plus but by non means essential
  • Proven teamworking skills
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High degree of initiative
  • Strong work ethic
  • Logical mindset and technical bias
  • Well organised and ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • Educated to GCSE or A Level standard with strong results in STEM subjects.

An apprenticeship is a combination of employment provided by us and your apprenticeship training provided by our affiliated apprentice partner.
