Role Responsibility
The successful candidate will be expected to have an understanding, passion and knowledge of a wide range of music genres featured on BBC Radio 1 and an instinctive understanding and appreciation of modern youth culture and cultural trends.

This is a multi-skilled role working to a Music Team Producer and ultimately to Radio 1 & 1Xtra's Head of Music. The Assistant Producer will be expected to develop the required range of skills through a combination of formal and informal training opportunities.

Are you the right candidate?
You will need a deep knowledge of, and passion for, music relevant to Radio 1's young target audience. You will have a passion for broadcasting and an understanding of those subjects, which fascinate, entertain and appeal to young audiences. A good understanding of the Music Industry, particularly in the UK is important, along with experience of music scheduling software, digital editing systems and multimedia platforms. Good music industry contacts and ways of finding content from different sources is also key to this role.
