Global Employee Relations Manager is required by our large client in London.

This role is based within the Employee Relations Team. The team leads on global Employee Relations policies, frameworks and approaches with specific responsibility for employment policy, wellbeing and occupational health, industrial relations and specific support to overseas emergencies and security/conflict scenarios.

This is inscope of IR35.

Responsibilities and Main Duties:

  • Define the global framework for dispute resolution/mediation for the client
  • Act as the bridge between the client and employees through consultation processes, where the case has been escalated by the Business to the Employee Relations Team
  • Manage conflict and grievance resolution for any complex cases and/or cases that go to tribunal, and lead on dispute mediation for those cases
  • Define policies and procedures around large scale redundancy processes and manage the processes as required on behalf of the client
  • Consult with, and provide advice and guidance to, the Business and HR colleagues on employee relations matters, in order to ensure that the client is able to maximise motivation, performance and the achievement of individual and company objectives.
  • Contribute to building a culture of innovation around employee relations across the organisation
  • Ensure all employee relations initiatives are underpinned by the values and HR frameworks of the company and adhere to the organisation's Equal Opportunities and Diversity guidelines

  • Exceptional communication and engagement skills
  • Ability to handle matters sensitively and confidentially
  • In depth knowledge of industrial relations policies, particularly in understanding the legal/regulatory framework surrounding HR in the UK
  • Experience of working on complex cases and/or cases that go to tribunal
  • Experience of dispute mediation
  • Employee relations related qualification or equivalent experience


  • Experience of working in a complex, global, Matrix environment
  • Experience of setting global employee relations policies and principles
