Senior UX Designer

Salary: Dependant on experience

Role Overview

Sopra Steria has an excellent opportunity for a UX Designer, covering the full creative digital spectrum across projects, you'll be joining the government digital UX team to deliver focused, innovative solutions to a range of government clients as well as supporting our wider portfolio of clients across the UK.

Key responsibilities:

Your role will be hands on in problem solving, translating business requirements into clean, intuitive experiences. You will have experience of creating and crafting UX material based on research you or others have gathered and use it to consult with our clients, providing direction to a range of projects within Sopra Steria's client portfolio.

Main Features of the Role

Responsibilities will include:

    • Liaise with project teams and key stakeholder to identify and communicate audience needs
    • Exploring UX solutions and making decisions that shape the various projects from a UX perspective
    • Working at the senior level, your role will also include aspects of team leadership, using your experience to inspire others and bring energy to new projects
    • Perform research and communicate research findings to cross-functional teams and management
      • User stories
      • Prototypes (lo-FI and hi-FI)
      • Wireframes and flows
      • Design specifications
      • Qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate ideas and perform user testing
    • Present design concepts/user journey flows to team members and management
    • Create static and active mock-ups of the user interface for omni-channel experiences
    • Able to clearly communicate to the business what UX is, why we need it and how to implement it

Essential Skills

    • 4+ years of industry experience and strong work samples which demonstrate your process and the finished project
    • Demonstrable knowledge, experience in and passion for user centred design practices for web, service or software development
    • Bachelor's degree in interaction design, user research, human factors, HCI or related field is required
    • Working knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite
    • Knowledge of using Axure and Balsamiq
    • Experience introducing and establishing design thinking practices within an organisation
    • Understanding of online usability analysis tools
    • Examples of data gathered from usability analysis tools and tests
    • Existing portfolio of work
    • Experience of working in agile projects
    • Self-motivated and directed
    • Strong understanding of user centred design methodology

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Security Clearance.
