Practice: Enterprise Services

We're the team that transforms our customers' technology landscape bringing them real competitive edge! When you build a business around your people it's about helping them to develop thought leadership that delivers. At ECS we know about this journey - we've been there - and we want you to join the team and share our vision.

The practice is currently in the process of being formed which means that any developers joining the team will be instrumental to its structure and success. The teams within will be built around DevOps practices such as CI/CD, automation and delivering by value to our customers.

What you'll be doing

Interested? We are seeking a consultant to join a new practice. An opportunity has arisen for our organisation to provide solutions to our customers based on Amazon Web Services Serverless products, such as DynamoDB, Kinesis, S3 and Lambda. Specifically, we are looking to bring people onto the teams that are capable of maturing our ability in developing integrations and applications on top of the AWS PaaS suite.

What you'll contribute:

We know we can't expect candidates to have all of the skills we need, instead the focus is on finding the right people with a good amount of them. Our practice aligns itself with these core tenets;

Let data lead decisions
Ask yourself whether it benefits the customer
Apply the simplest solution
Always challenge the status quo
You will be able to wear many hats but predominantly focus on creation of value to customers through development of solutions in the AWS PaaS space. You always choose quality over quantity and know how to inspire others to do so. You are able to challenge the ideas and solutions of others respectfully and accept criticism of your own.

The technology we work with predominantly includes;

AWS SDKs (Python/NodeJS)
DynamoDB, Athena, S3, Kinesis, Lambda, API Gateway
Javascript/HTML/CSS
Amazon Connect
ElasticSearch Logstash Kibana and some Splunk
CloudWatch,
IAM, AWS Config Rules

Responsibilities
Design, document and develop features and products specific to the customers that we work with
Provide consultative services to customers, usually working in mixed teams (ours and the customers) to deliver on agreed outcomes
Interpret customer challenges into software solutions or software integrations
Develop Proof of Concept alongside our customers, capturing the value and presenting this to wider audiences
Capture valuable assets you create in order to apply across multiple customers

Skills and experience:
At least 2 years working with either Python, NodeJS or Javascript
AWS Developer Associate Level certification or pass within 3 months
Proven Experience with AWS Services relevant to the technology we work with
Experience on Agile Teams as a developer with experience of CI/CD
Ability to work iteratively in order to achieve value

What you'll get out of this:

You'll be joining an inclusive culture with many of our senior team being experts in the field. As part of a business that is committed to sharing technical knowledge, you'll develop your people skills and expertise in current, new and emerging cloud technologies/project techniques.

Join us and become an industry leading expert with the technical smarts and profile to transform Enterprise Technology Landscapes.
