Embedded Software Engineer - ANSI C/RTOS/ARM/JTAG

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join a small but very established and rapidly expanding forward thinking company whose products are sold globally. They are a dynamic and friendly organisation producing electronic goods used in the entertainment industry.

Duties include:

Designing, and coding innovative Embedded firmware with reliability and safety at its core. You'll also be responsible for enhancing existing products and ensuring that documentation is kept up to date.

  • You'll be developing new ARM based Embedded software for an exciting range of products currently under development
  • You'll take ownership of your assigned projects, architecting robust Embedded software solutions for Real Time applications
  • You'll improve upon what the company has by maintaining, updating and enhancing existing Embedded software
  • You'll confidently carve up your designs into logical work packages ready for implementation on-time
  • You'll deliver top quality software, using coding standards and appropriate methods (Code Review, Static Analysis, Unit Test etc.)
  • You'll collaborate with team members to ensure the hardware design is right and to commission prototypes and new designs

Essential experience

  • You've got experience with ANSI C in an Embedded environment. You've worked with Operating Systems such as uTasker (at the heart of many of our products) or you bring relevant OS experience (eg FreeRTOS, VxWorks, Green Hills, QNX). You've got proven hands-on Real Time' experience with Embedded microcontrollers (eg ARM) using toolchains such as Rowley Crossworks, Keil uVision etc. You're comfortable hands-on' with hardware (JTAG, logic analysers, scopes) and familiar with data comms (RS232, RS485, I2C, SPI, Ethernet IP).

The salary range quoted is dependent on experience. Individuals looking for the higher end of the scale must have relevant senior engineering or supervisory experience. Free parking available or 5 minute walk from Train station.
