To design and implement technical solutions for SCC customers. The Technical Architect role is key to the successful delivery of transformation programmes providing technical subject matter expertise to customers and colleagues. The role holder will be expected to participate as a workstream lead in large, complex delivery programmes, and also as sole technical lead on small to medium sized engagements where specific subject matter expertise is required.

Main Duties of Job:

  • Act as a workstream lead and subject matter expert within large complex delivery programmes
  • Lead and participate in technical design workshops to confirm customer requirements translate these to technical deliverables
  • Participate in project definition workshops alongside project and programme management colleagues
  • Production of detailed design documentation and adherence to industry and vendor best practice principles
  • Ensure alignment of client's business and technical objectives
  • Act as a key programme or project technical contact for customers and colleagues
  • Work alongside programme and project management colleagues to define and deliver programme and project documentation
  • Assist with technical presales in support of Solution Architecture and sales force colleagues
  • Participate in peer review of technical documentation
  • Ensure SCC documentation standards are maintained across engagements
  • Obtain and maintain industry recognised technical accreditations that align to SCC's vedor accreditations and strategy 

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

Essential

  • At least 5 years experience of working in a professional services technology role
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of designing and implementing a broad range of technologies with specific focus on the Microsoft stack including:
    • Active Directory
    • Azure
    • Office 365
    • Federation and cloud identity
    • Server virtualisation
    • Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
    • Experience of migrating on premises environments into the cloud
  • Experience of presenting technical solutions to both technology focused and non-technology focused personnel
  • Understanding of core platform technologies including networking and network security infrastructure and storage area networking
  • Relevant professional qualifications eg MCP, MCSE
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of industry standards and best practice techniques
  • Ability to work as part of a team and also unaided
  • Commercially aware with strong client facing and vendor relationship management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to adapt and prioritise workloads to meet client objectives
  • Ability to anticipate, communicate, and mitigate technical risks and issues

Desirable

  • Detailed knowledge and experience of designing and implementing the following technologies:
    • AWS
    • SQL Server
    • System Center stack
    • Citrix
  • Understanding of programme and project management methodologies
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of the IT services marketplace and the challenges facing customers
  • Current holder of or ability to obtain security clearance
