Based in New York Airport, New Jersey, you will provide a single point of accountability for the INNOVIA ART light rail vehicle fleet, of the JFK AirTrain SDC including: safety, service reliability and availability, budget goals, and ongoing project management of vehicle overhauls. You will be responsible for managing the implementation of all overhaul programs associated with the vehicle including managing scope, anticipating new long term maintenance issues, verifying the quality of existing work, managing existing maintenance practices such as wheel truing, recommending new maintenance practices, and establishing a strong understanding of the ART vehicle and subsystems. You will be required to establish a close working relationship with our customer, subsystems vendors, and internal QA Engineering groups.

In your role you will:

Schedule daily and long term preventive maintenance plans;

Manage resources consisting of vehicle technicians, supervisors, professional staff, supplies and parts to assure the efficient use of resources;

Implement audit programs to review quality of work and ensure that all vehicles released to service are in a state of good repair;

Be responsible for managing overhaul plans (heavy truck overhaul, coupler, brakes, HVAC) to complete work within targeted time frames, assures materials, equipment, supplies and Vehicle Technicians are available to meet project plan schedules;

Develop processes to assure availability of materials and resources to correct and repair urgent maintenance failures and faults;

Anticipate long term problems and establish repair programs to correct new and longstanding repair items;

Assure preventive and corrective maintenance are accurately recorded in MAXIMO to assure compliance with commercial agreement and business objectives and complete performance reviews for supervisory staff;

Manage expense budgets for preventive and corrective maintenance, overhauls and overtime.


As our ideal candidate:

You hold an Engineering degree or equivalent experience;

You have seven (7) to ten (10) years with multiple years of managing and maintaining steel wheel transit vehicles;

You have a strong technical knowledge of steel wheel rail vehicles;

You have excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
