IT Infrastructure Project Manager (Contract/Full Time)

Location: Akron Ohio Country: United States of America Rate: Open to discussion

This is a 6-month contract that could possibly go permanent. Available ASAP in Akron, OH!

  • Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of small, medium, or large-scale projects from inception through production delivery
  • may include managing multiple projects concurrently and drives them to successful completion
  • Collaborate with management, IT teams, business teams, engineers, financial, and vendor/contract resources to determine the project scope (requirements), cost estimates, resource requirements, and schedule to develop the project plan and budget
  • Develop, manage, track, and maintain the project plan: team member tasks, broader team communications, risks, issues, schedule, financials (budget, forecasts, and actuals), project conflicts, and overall quality project delivery through all project phases
  • Responsible for consistent use of approved PMO Framework, project management tools and templates, and project life cycle methodology
  • Ensure the project(s) follow Security Standards regarding protection and privacy of sensitive corporate data (SOX, PCI, etc. compliance)
  • Establish and maintain IT operation, policies and procedures
  • Minimizes our exposure and risk across multiple projects
  • Manages scope and mitigates risk across projects
  • Produces regular status reports and facilitates recurring status meetings
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of current infrastructure technologies and future trends
  • Meets financial objectives (capital, expense, and recurring) by forecasting, monitoring, tracking, and reporting project financial status (budget, forecasts, actuals, and variances)
  • Collaborate with the engineering and business teams to deliver high availability solutions and a stable customer experience
  • Interpret internal and external customer needs that impact the technology portfolio
  • React quickly to changing internal and external customer needs
  • Manage Matrix team members (internal, contract, and vendors) to meet the project objectives and schedule
  • Willingly participate in cross-functional/brand teams

Position Requirements And Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in IT Project Management with progressively increasing roles with at least 5 years IT Infrastructure experience
  • Managed multiple medium to large scale IT Infrastructure project implementations (required)
  • Demonstrated understanding of managed network appliances, Servers/virtual machines, data storage units, Firewalls, operating systems, applications, monitoring tools, and security/IT controls (required)
  • Experience with multiple project management methodologies (Waterfall SDLC, Agile, Scrum, etc.)
  • Experience with ServiceNow PPM highly recommended
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and certifications preferred
  • PMP Certification is preferred
  • Strong project management, analytical, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective cross-team collaboration and meeting facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of technology infrastructure solutions - required
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated aptitude for communicating with a wide range of resources - from technicians to senior/executive management
  • Demonstrated proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word, etc.) and the ability to select the proper tool for managing a project and effectively communicating project status in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner
  • Calm under pressure, objective and diplomatic
  • Team player & leader with a customer and solutions-oriented focus
  • Understands the importance of communications and when to escalate issues
  • Anticipates information that may be needed by different organizations/workgroups (technical and non-technical)
