Join us as a Procurement Manager and you'll be looking at a career-defining role based in San Diego, California.

As a Procurement Manager, you will oversight of all activities surrounding materials management including the implementation, management and updating standard operating procedures, processes and procedures in regards to Purchasing, Materials Management, Warehouse Management, Inventory Control, Receiving and Issuing of materials, the procurement process, vendor selection and database management.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Input, approval and maintenance of the approved supplier database;
- Management of the supplier chain and supplier warranty;
- Oversee all purchasing activities with the support of Corp Finance to ensure compliance with policy and effective governance;
- Establishment and maintenance of optimized min/max levels in the data management system;
- Participation in the development and management of the Obsolescence Registry;
- Liaising with corporate to ensure supplier development program;
- Liaising with local QA/QC and Corp QA/QC as required to ensure all levels of supplier quality assessments are identified, documented and conducted ( FAIS, random auditing, in process inspections, post delivery inspections, etc);
- Management of supplier or third party investigations into failures including arranging component teardowns and finding reports;
- Management of supplier performance issues including reliability issues etc.
- Identification of more cost effective material options liaising with the Material Solutions and Corp procurement departs to capitalize on global purchasing power;
- Leading cycle counts and annual inventory counts as per contractual requirements and Bombardier policy;
- Develop long term professional development plans for each direct report capitalizing on the Bombardier Coaching/Mentoring program in order to further develop leadership capabilities and strengths;
- Liaise closely with Engineering regarding upcoming capital work, overhaul work or changes to the maintenance regime that may impact purchasing demands or vendor identification.


Key requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent;
- Minimum of ten (10) years experience purchasing materials and procurement environment;
- Maximo and/or SAP experience is ideal;
- Your APICS (or other relevant association) certification will be considered an asset.
