Based in New York Airport, New Jersey, you will provide assistance to the Safety Manager in all matters relating to Health and Safety at the JFK Site. You will coordinate at times develop the development, implementation and evaluation of initiatives that promote safe work practices and working environments, with an emphasis on system safety.

In your role you will:

- Provide safety training in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policy;
- Support management in mantaining universal and hazardous waste areas in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements;
- Work with Sites Engineering and Maintenance resources to recommend solutions and support site in hazard identification and risk assessment;
- Perform safety audits and inspection on work activities of employees, contractors and vendors;
- Prepare safety inspection reports and present to internal executives as well as to the client and their consultants;
- Assist safety manager during internal and external audits;
- Track audit findings and assist Safety Manager in monthly pre-CAPs meetings with Site management; Conduct Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings on monthly basis;
- Perform job analysis and develop safe system of work (SSOW) procedures as it pertains to employees' and contractor's job tasks, equipment, tools and special projects;
- Assist Safety Manager in maintaining safety data on SharePoint site;
- Assist in accident and incident investigation, record and report important details of accident, identify root cause(s) and contributing factors;
- Assist in implementation and tracking Site HSE Action Plan including CAPs to track site continuous improvement initiatives;
- Support Safety Manager in initial HSE accident and incident notifications process;
- Support management in maintaining OSHAS 18001 system certifications and System Safety Program plan (SSPP).


As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Health and Environment Science, Management or Engineering;
- You have one (1) to three (3) years of experience in a related field;
- You have experience electrical safety and NFPA 70E, systems safety, incident investigation, risk assessment and hazard analysis and root cause analysis;
- You have excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
