Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

The Strategic Information Management (SIM) team resides within the Business Banking Operations and Credit Services (BBOCS) group and provides reporting, analysis and consulting for all areas within the Business Banking Group. SIM produces both standard and ad hoc reports for the business. We provide consulting on the availability of Business Banking data and how to most effectively mine and use it. We also are deeply involved with metric definition. SIM serves as the primary liaison to the Enterprise Data Analytics (EDA) group that houses the business banking data. We coordinate new requests as well as ongoing support of the current environments.

This role within SIM will be responsible for translating business needs into creative and effective BI solutions that deliver accurate, impactful and interactive business metrics. This role requires experience in the Microsoft BI Suite and proven experience in developing and designing key performance metrics, reports and or dashboards. The role is expected to lead and/or participate in projects to expand and fully utilize the Microsoft BI application and ensure the underlying data structure is optimized. This role will involve promoting and championing Business Intelligence both within SIM and with its customers. Also will be asked to provide consultation, support and coaching to SIM's customers to help them solve business needs through existing and proposed solutions.

Acts as a liaison between client area and technical organization by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of highly complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements. Works with user groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes. Prepares specifications for system changes. Recommends and initiates systems testing. Acts as an internal consultant within technology and business groups by using quality tools and process definition/improvement to re-engineer technical processes for greater efficiencies. Provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business systems analysis experience, business systems design experience, or a combination of both

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • SharePoint experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Tableau

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in advanced TSQL, PLSQL programming in SQL Server, Oracle Server or equivalent environment.
  • 3+ years using SSRS
  • 2+ years in the design and building of BI Dashboards
  • 2+ years advanced-level Microsoft BI Suite including (Excel, PowerPivot, PowerView, and or Excel Services)
  • 3+ years of experience working with Business Intelligence tools
  • 3+ years of report design experience, attuned to the fundamentals of user interaction
  • A proven understanding of the dimensional data models, reporting and oftware, and effective project management skills are required
  • Excellent analytic problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to work independently on complex data tasks
  • Ability to communicate effectively with strong organizational skills
  • Business knowledge highly desirable
  • Experience in designing, developing and using Data Cubes for reporting.
  • SSRS development integrated with SharePoint
