IT Quality Assurance Analyst Senior (Full Time)

Location: New Albany, Columbus, OH Country: United States of America

American Electric Power, New Albany, OH, seeks Engineers, Transmission Planning. Perform analyses & studies of transmission network (23kV to 765kV) to ensure reliability of the electrical grid to deliver electricity to consumer. Perform load flow & short circuit studies to access reliability of local area transmission grid. Analyze steady state reliability performance of the grid utilizing Siemens PTI PSS/E, TARA & ASPEN OneLiner. Simulate grid operations & develop & maintain transmission system models using Siemens PTI MOD. Develop 5 year transmission plan acceptable to RTO for assigned geographical area. Apply FERC, NERC standards, & RTO rulemaking procedures pertaining to transmission planning.

Requires: BS in ABET* accredited EE program & 3 years of EE experience which must include: Power system modelling & load flow analysis; 2 years of circuit analysis & grid operations studies/reliability planning; 2 years of using PSS/E & ASPEN OneLiner & applying NERC reliability standards to power system operations or planning..ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology. Acceptable alternatives are a BS in engineering (non-ABET), plus a PE license in any U.S. state or a BS in engineering (non-ABET) plus a MS in engineering from a university with ABET accredited BS program.
