Our high profile client in the eCommerce industry is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for a 6-11 month project in Seattle. The ideal candidate has strong expertise with Internet routing protocols and concepts including TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, ISIS and/or OSPF and networking operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos. This opportunity has the potential to convert to a permanent position with the company.


  • Grow global IP network by performing network capacity augments and migrations.
  • Work with internal/external partners to add/migrate/decom connectivity to peers
  • Coordinate with peers for deployment activity
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues as needed with peers/internal partners
  • Maintain accurate records in database to track deployment status


  • Internet routing protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, ISIS and/or OSPF
  • Network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos.
  • Linux/Unix environment


  • Should have a minimum of 7+ years industry experience.
  • Excellent IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols.
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with major Internet routing protocols; specifically BGP and OSPF
  • Strong understanding of Layer 2 Layer 3 BGP
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with major Router platforms; specifically with Cisco 37xx, 49xx, 65xx, 73xx, 76xx platforms including all compatible supervisory and line cards for these platforms.
  • Experience Scripting repetitive tasks using Python, excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills.
  • Candidates should also have had significant past experience with, and expertise in many of the following protocols & technologies: DWDM, T1/DS1, DS3, SONET (OC3, OC48), 802.2/3, 802.1d VLANs/STP, IPv4 & IPv6, TCP (internals & flow control), BGP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, TACACS, IPSEC & VPNs, netflow, DNS, HTTP.


  • Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills; specifically, network performance analysis
  • Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem, and work toward resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
