The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy, driving technical innovation, and ensuring the successful execution of our most critical projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact, influence strategic decisions, and drive the long-term success of our organization.Job DutiesLead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster professional growth and development.

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards.Complete an in-flight migration from an on-prem data warehouse to BigQuery, and decommission the legacy environment.Establish operating rhythms to ensure consistent delivery of accurate, timely data to the analytics environment.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and manufacturing to develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with business objectives.Review, update, document, and if necessary establish clear development and operational standards for the team.Manage resource allocation, workload prioritization, and staffing needs to optimize team productivity and project outcomes.

Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.Represent the Data Infrastructure team in meetings, presentations, and discussions with clients, stakeholders, and executive management.Job RequirementsBachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree (eg, Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.

Proven experience (8+ years preferred) in engineering leadership roles with a track record of successfully managing teams and delivering complex projects.Deep technical expertise and proficiency in ETL pipelines, messaging systems, relational databases, data warehousing, and ML pipelinesExperience using Google Cloud Platform services including BigQuery, PubSub, Dataflow, and VertexAI.Strong tactical and strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of translating business objectives into actionable engineering plans.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence teams at all levels of the organization.Solid project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.Experience working in a regulated environment and familiarity with compliance requirements, including SOC2 and PCI.

Travel expectations for remote employees is about 15%, and the company covers travel expenses for remote employees. Local employees will utilize in-office time on a weekly basis Tuesday through Thursday. CompensationThe expected on-target earnings (OTE), which is comprised of a base salary and other forms of cash compensation, such as bonus or commissions is currently $169,500 to $203,250. This pay range is just one component of MX's total rewards package. MX takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location, skillset, peer compensation.
