Job Description

Job Summary:

The IT Administrator is responsible for maintaining the computer networking system by tracking server activity, performing upgrades of software, maintaining computer hardware, addressing questions about technical problems, and improving efficiency by evaluating system network functions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and monitor all network, security and computer systems to meet the organization's current and future requirements; identify and resolve performance issues proactively;
  • Test and maintain all changes to networks, hardware, software, and hosted applications; document all system builds and modifications;
  • Monitor service delivery compliance to budget, quality standards and customer and business stakeholder requirements;
  • Interact with vendors, suppliers, distributors and contract consultant relationships to ensure a productive environment; place service calls for Servers and network equipment as needed;
  • Determines server sizing and configuration, printer configuration, bandwidth analysis and capacity planning;
  • Installs/configures Servers and server software/drivers;
  • Monitors the availability of updates/upgrades to all server hardware, tests and installs updates/upgrades;
  • Professionally represent the infrastructure team as a technical consultant on client setups/projects;
  • Cater to doing infrastructure coordination related to design and setup activities at different stages of a project;
  • Work with clients/employees, including external IT coordinators, during client onboarding or product deployment activities;
  • Proactively plans for business continuity and disaster avoidance and creates/updates disaster recovery plans.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends;
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, or when current responsibilities are changed with or without notice.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or business related field, preferred
  • MCSE Certification a plus
  • Minimum 6 years professional experience
  • Strong experience and knowledge of Microsoft domain (AD, DNS, DHCP, NPS, Printing)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Windows Server 2016 (and older)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft Exchange
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft SQL Server
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Windows Server Update Services
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Vmware, Vsphere 6
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Advanced TCP/IP knowledge and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience in VPN
  • Additional experience with Veeam, Cisco ASA, iscsi storage, a plus
  • Must possess strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills, proven through previous work experience;
  • Experience documenting processes and procedures preferred.

Work Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing and working on a computer for extended periods of time).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.
  • Regular on-site attendance required.

Position Type, Expected Location and Hours of Work:

This is a Full time position and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may require additional hours outside of the standard work schedule. Responsibilities occasionally may require overtime, holiday, evening and/or weekend hours in order to meet deadlines or to accommodate clients.
