Position Overview:
Boise State University's Albertsons Library seeks an innovative, forward-thinking, service-oriented person who excels at motivating and inspiring others to rethink the role of research and instruction services to serve as Head of Instruction and Research Services.

This is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position with faculty status and academic rank.
Appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor depending upon qualifications. Library faculty must meet
requirements to achieve promotion and tenure. Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Library Dean and leading a team of librarians and staff, the Head of Instruction and Research Services (IRS) coordinates the development of departmental goals and objectives to foster use of library resources, collections, and research services. This position administers, develops, and coordinates innovative instruction and research support services to achieve the strategic vision and plan of Albertsons Library. The Head of IRS
performs a leading role in continuously improving learning environments to provide transformational library services.
Responsibilities include: Provides leadership and vision that advocates for multidisciplinary research and learning support Provides leadership to establish and implement goals, objectives, priorities, and performance standards for research, reference, instruction, and information literacy Supervises and leads a team of library faculty and staff Coordinates the design, implementation, and assessment of innovative, user-centered research and curriculum support services Actively participates in library strategic planning Works collaboratively with other library unit heads to implement the Library's strategic goals Serves on Library Leadership Team and Collections Council Works creatively and collaboratively to build partnerships with faculty, campus departments, and community groups in support of the University's teaching, research, and service missions Performs reference services, liaison duties, assistance with collection development, and library instruction sessions as needed Maintains knowledge of current and emerging trends in library and information science
