Successful candidates will provide sensor systems engineering support (design, engineering, and test) for an advanced airborne phased array radar system. Candidates will engage in activities with minimal supervision and work as part of a team in design assessments (signal processing & algorithms, sensor control, processing architecture, etc.), design improvements, integration, and test. Candidates should have a clear understanding of how the sensor technology impacts the entire system, the end-to-end process to acquire and develop new technologies and the operational utility of the system. Responsibilities will include performing trade studies, assessing and making design improvements, modeling and simulation, assessing issues discovered during implementation, and designing, executing and the analysis of data in support of system test. Candidates will also be expected to perform research to advance the state of the art in sensor technologies. Candidates must have working knowledge of radar technologies related to airborne systems.
Required Qualifications:
We seek candidates with exceptional technical background in radar systemsengineering and sensor signal processing/phenomenology. Skills including sensorengineering, probability and statistics, signal detection, estimation,classification, system modeling and design, phased arrays, beam formation, andadaptive processing are mandatory.
Candidates must possess good written and oral communication skills and willinterface directly with customers and contractor experts. In addition, asuccessful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able towork with a diverse team. Candidates must be self-directed and be able todefine focused technical efforts to enable assessments and maturation of sensortechnologies. They must be able to build successful relationships withgovernment clients and their contractor teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
A working knowledge of Electronic Warfare techniques, tracker design andsensing modalities other than radar is desired. Candidates should have amasters degree in electrical engineering, physics or mathematics and 8 yearsof experience in radar technologies and radar related signal processing.Candidates with doctorate degrees in electrical engineering, physics ormathematics are preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS and 8 years related experience. Defines work programs greater than themselves. Technical thought leader across department.
