A Market Director focuses on market growth strategies to increase visibility with new and existing clients via comprehensive community events management, social media marketing and networking initiatives, and advanced customer tracking and reporting. The individual leverages a consultative approach, cultivates enduring relationships with all relevant client stakeholders to create client value while expanding University of Phoenix (UOPX) revenue base. A Market Director works as a seasoned, trusted advisor to design and propose innovative talent management solutions for multiple clients, and personally manages top tier accounts. An individual develops opportunities to improve education service agreements to increase new degree enrollments and achieve other market growth targets. A Market Director identifies new business development opportunities with the University's Employer Partnership Group team, community relations specialists and others, and engages with enrollment leadership to develop improved conversion tactics.
Responsibilities
Job Accountabilities
1. Serve as a trusted advisor and lead effective discovery meetings with new and existing clients to understand the clients' business needs; present innovative, comprehensive UOPX solutions to create client value and enhance the UOPX brand within the market.
2. Oversee the execution of key events and lead generation activities; participate in contract negotiations.
3. Develop engagement strategies with established networks of business partners and organizations to increase engagement and awareness of the University's focus, mission and programs; build reputation as an educational solutions provider and advocate of higher education for working adults.
4. Maintain timely, accurate and thorough documentation of all activities, tasks, contacts and account management activities in the client relationship management system.
5. Support University Legal Services (ULS) with government relationships at a local level; serve as the local point of contact for any local regulatory audits or compliance necessary as needed by ULS.
6. Be available to travel regularly to client and other locations.
7. Be available at the location at least 50% of the operational time each week to manage day-to-day operations at the location.
8. Select, mentor, coach and evaluate staff; establish and monitor appropriate employee performance objectives; prepare and present employee performance discussions, including one-on-one meetings and quarterly check-ins; implement mentoring and coaching plans, or disciplinary action, where appropriate.
9. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university
One (1) year of experience in administration or institutional management, which includes knowledge of and responsibility for compliance with state-specific regulations and certification requirements AND seven (7) years of experience in consultative sales, account management and/or business development
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Master's in business administration or related field
Exceptional executive presence and demonstrated ability to take command of relationship management and C-suite level decision makers; politically astute to manage through an organization
Demonstrable competence in client solutions, public speaking, public relations, social media, sales and marketing strategy development and implementation, including lead generation plans and objectives
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate professionally, persuasively and confidently over the phone, email and in face to face appointments
Ability to negotiate contracts, proposals or agreements with vendors, outside partners and organizations
Highly organized with strong planning and time management skills and demonstrated problem solving and decision-making capabilities
Deep and broad expertise in adult learning and development, industry trends, and the post-secondary industry trends
Salesforce, Clearslide, MS Office, SharePoint and Outlook
Experience and discipline to work in a virtual setting, if needed
