The Sr. Training Specialist is an individual contributor responsible for providing new hire and ongoing training and professional development for their assigned client group. This position is responsible for assessing needs, designing and developing content and delivering high quality, innovative learning solutions that build the expertise, skills and capabilities needed to achieve business goals. The Sr. Training Specialist is responsible for optimizing the return on investment in Learning and Development.

Essential Functions

  • Consult with key stakeholders and assigned client(s) to understand business and organizational goals, gather business requirements to recommend learning and development solutions, and deliver learning programming/content.
  • Partner with key stakeholders and assigned client(s) to assess skill and knowledge needs in the workforce and collaborate to design, develop and deliver appropriate learning solutions.
  • Conduct/oversee needs assessment and develop plans/timelines to manage training projects and requests.
  • Continuously evaluate all learning content and programs to ensure they are meeting the learning and business goals of assigned client groups and contributing to overall organizational objectives.
  • Deploy learning programs and activities utilizing state-of-the-art, blended learning approaches, leveraging technology and learning systems as appropriate.
  • Ensure that effective application of sound adult learning and group facilitation principles are adhered to.
  • Continuously deepen business knowledge as new solutions or business requirements are added to the work environment.


  • Bachelor's Degree in an education related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5-10+ years' experience developing, implementing and facilitating classroom, online and virtual training programs using adult learning principles in a corporate setting
  • Experience effectively training large groups of people using strong facilitation skills
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • Background in adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, needs assessments and project management
  • Experience conducting needs analysis and presenting viable learning solutions that meet time and budgetary requirements


  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, leadership, partnership and coaching skills
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven planning, organization, project management, time management and editing skills
  • Eye for quality and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Able to effectively communicate and collaborate with business partners and stakeholders at all levels across the organization
  • Able to effectively influence key stakeholders
  • Able to independently complete risk assessments and take appropriate action


Proficient with:

  • Microsoft Office Suite products
  • SharePoint, SharePoint Designer and SharePoint Workspace
  • Go to Meeting and Go to Webinar

Physical Requirements

  • Standard office environment: Work typically involves close visual acuity on a computer to access, view, read, prepare, and analyze data and other written communications.


  • Infrequent travel may occasionally be required for training or meetings.
