Job Summary

The Health Initiatives Health Coverage Program Manager oversees the effective implementation of the Health Coverage Program. This program works with clients to enroll in healthcare plans in the Affordable Care Acts Insurance Marketplace.

Essential Job Functions :

  • Establishing, maintaining, and supervising a high degree of content expertise and remaining knowledgeable about developments in the field
  • Hiring, supervising, coaching, and mentoring a highly-qualified and diverse staff to ensure effective service delivery, successful execution of responsibilities, and professional development
  • Developing and implementing strategies that expand the reach and effectiveness of the program
  • Coordinating with key stakeholders, including health care providers and other community-based organizations, to identify and serve high-need clients
  • Serving as a content expert
  • Effective management of program budget
  • Operational oversight of program deliverables and strategic initiatives
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local policy implications in the area of health insurance
  • Building and maintaining partnerships locally, state-wide, and nationally
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  • As needed, oversee any unique capital improvement projects in existing portfolio. This would include project scope definition, budgeting, scheduling, site and vender coordination, quality control, submittal review, and day to day on-site construction coordination.
  • Oversee the creation and roll out of staff Construction 101 trainings.
  • Assist with coordination of Green Unit Staging process.
  • Be available to assist the Asset Management department in any special projects
  • Work as a team with the other members of the Asset Management department.
  • Coordinate as needed with other divisions of Foundation Communities such as Property Management, Resident Services, Learning Centers, Health Initiatives, Prosper Center, Insure Central Texas or Community Engagement.
  • Be willing to work on projects as assigned.
  • Attend professional conferences as time and budget allows.
  • Complete any and all required reports needed by lenders, funders, grantors.
  • Participate in due diligence on new construction projects.

Minimum Qualifications (experience, education, credentials, language):

  • Extensive knowledge of health care policy issues and experience in the health care field
  • The ability to manage and develop a highly-qualified and diverse team
  • Multiple years of experience managing health or social service programs, educational attainment in advanced degrees may substitute for experience
  • Cultural competency and the ability to serve low-income clients with diverse backgrounds and complex medical needs

Physical Demands/Work Environment: Position includes working at a computer and interacting with employees and clients all day.
