3rd Eye is disrupting the traditional Fleet Safety Video Monitoring and Telematics industries with leading high-quality media and reliable digital delivery. Our services are engineered for high availability, maximum reach, and cost savings for our customers. Fleet managers can watch live streams or review safety events instantly, from any device, to monitor their vehicle fleet. Our technology is the cornerstone of our industry and our customers use it to improve their fleet safety, operational, and maintenance performance.


We are looking for an outstanding Senior Electrical Engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. You will be detail oriented and continuously push for high standards from yourself and the rest of the team. You will be a lead PCB designer who will continuously drive quality and performance. You will assist in defining new procedures and standards to increase efficiency and reduce risk.


  • Develop mixed-signal PCB schematics (and layout designs).
  • Verify circuit boards in the lab and as part of a system.
  • Other duties for research and development as deemed necessary.
  • Work closely with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to create PCB layouts compliant with industry standards.
  • Develop new processes for improved PCB quality and reliability.
  • Work with third party layout services as necessary with changing workloads.
  • Review Schematic and PCB design documents.
  • Manage documentation and develop scripts to enhance usability of the ECAD systems.


  • Bachelor s Degree, or higher, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • 10+ years PCB design and layout experience with progressively greater responsibilities across full product life cycles.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in mixed-signal PCB schematics capture (and layout).
  • Experience with high frequency device(s) such as Microprocessor (x86/ARM/MIPS), FPGA (Xilinx/Altera), DDR, PCIe or similar.
  • Component sourcing.
  • Experience using common lab equipment, such as Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer etc. (Required).
  • Cadence OrCAD, OrCAD PCB Designer, Altium and/or Eagle.
  • Knowledge and understanding of any applicable standards, and DFM rules for creating highly reliable and complex PCB designs.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Experience using PCB design suites such as Cadence OrCAD, or Altium Designer.
  • Demonstrated ability to read component datasheets to extract critical design information needed to generate new PCB schematics, footprints, and layouts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
  • Experience using digital oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and other related component test equipment.


  • Deep knowledge of PCB failure modes, reliability, J1455/J1113, MIL, AEC, and IPC standards experience.
  • IC/FCC/PTRCB/CE/UL Compliance experience.
  • Knowledge of the PCB manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability (DfM).
