Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MUST meet minimum qualifications to be considered)

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial) or equivalent degree. 3 years supervisory experience OR 5+ years experience leading project teams.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • In-depth knowledge of core manufacturing practices (Tube forming through Helium Leak check).

  • Experience leading cross functional teams successfully:

    • Knowledge of the Jigyoshen/Setsubishin process to install new equipment and lines.

    • Strong communication skills - written and oral - clear and concise - and ability to communicate to all levels of the organization including to DENSO's customers to propose improvement plans, new ideas and or solutions.

    • Mentoring skills and ability to develop team members/colleagues.

    • Experience in writing equipment, jig/tool specifications and requirements for procurement through the implementation of those items. Ability to read machine and product drawings, including drawings with GD&T

    • Well versed with the requirements of TS16949 including being familiar with customer and AIAG requirements.

    • Process flow chart, PFMEA & Control Plan knowledge and experience in developing & utilizing.

    • Consistent demonstration of utilizing quality tools and PDCA problem solving technique.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Project Lead:

    • Lead CFT to develop process reflections and incorporate into New Line Specifications.

    • Collaborate with PG1/DNJP to develop best product and process thru DFM, new model planning and GESC

  2. Department Lead:

    • Create Annual Plan Budget's, Expense, Fixed Asset and G&O's.

    • Creation and follow-up of engineer's tasks per G&O and organizational needs

      1. Project management & leadership to meet organizational business needs (G&O, PAT, NPI, etc)

      2. Plant layout plan month by month

      3. Capacity studies including action plan development to meet capacity concerns

      4. Quality, safety, environmental & productivity improvement needs.

    • Team and Individual development in technical and management/communication skills

      1. Mentoring of team members and direct reports

      2. Supporting the Engineering team with procedural, systemic changes and writing of work instructions

      3. Instill Associate Development thru IDP, PMP's

      4. Ensure that Work Requests, Fixed Assets Justifications are thoroughly completed and implemented accordingly.

      5. Review of Quality documentation (FMEA, Ctrl Plans), specifications and reports generated by the team

    • Strong promoter of safety, quality, environmental and productivity improvements

      1. Proactively find and implement kaizen opportunities

      2. Support activities such as Red Cards, leak and scrap reviews, quality/warranty returns.

      3. Prepare documentation to support FCM, Mgmt, PAT meetings

      4. Support safety, quality and environmental audits

While performing the duties of this job you may be asked to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift or carry component parts weighing up to 35 pounds-lifting parts in excess of 35 pounds with a lift assist, work on the production line for short periods of time, use hands to handle or feel parts, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear, use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, frequent phone use and typing. The work environment will vary from an open office setting to a production environment.
