Job Description:

Fidelity Institutional (FI) provides a comprehensive clearing and custody platform, brokerage services, trading capabilities and practice management and consulting to registered investment advisors (RIAs), broker-dealers, banks, insurance companies, and retirement record keepers.

The Practice Management & Consulting team is responsible for delivering practice management insights and strategic consulting to FI's clients and prospective clients. We help our institutional clients grow their businesses, enhance customer experiences, improve operational efficiency, and increase profitability. As a Vice President and the leader of the Proprietary Programs team, you will lead the strategy, development and delivery of practice management consulting services, insights, and resources for FI. This requires: defining priorities and securing the buy-in of key stakeholders, establishing strong relationships across the FI business and leadership team, understanding our clients and the trends that will most impact them, developing effective and compelling content and resources, and motivating and enabling your team to succeed. You will work in a fast-paced environment, and wear several hats from spokesperson and speaker to manager to consultant.

This role works closely with the marketing and sales and relationship management teams, as well as other internal business partners. In addition to client-facing programs, you also will be responsible for internal initiatives that drive scale and efficiency for the PM&C team, as well as enable it to change and thrive. The role requires a leader and team player who works to enhance the capabilities of the overall team, ultimately providing an outstanding experience to our clients and business partners. The Expertise You Have

  • Undergraduate degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience within the financial services industry
  • Consulting experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team preferred
  • Prior exposure to brokerage, wealth management, and/or RIA business models preferred
  • Series 7, 63, 24 preferred. Required to obtain within 90 days.
  • Must be willing to travel 25%-50% of the time.

The Value You Deliver

  • Act as a leader and subject matter expert on the Practice Management & Consulting team, overseeing or directly engaging in consulting projects and practice management programs that help clients increase productivity and growth.
  • Develop points of view and define the strategy of the Practice Management & Consulting team to increase the value we provide to clients and differentiate from the competition.
  • Responsible for understanding client business drivers and leveraging the resources on your team and across Fidelity to create insightful presentations and resources that are delivered to senior management teams or other client audiences.
  • Effectively communicate the PM&C offering to a variety of internal and external audiences
  • Understand and identify trends in the competitive landscape, industry trends, technology vendors and overall influencers such as investor demographics, consumer technology and regulatory issues.
  • Identify when to align with third-parties to help clients implement our recommendations or benefit from additional expertise.
  • Partner with Relationship Management and Sales, as well as internal business partners, such as Technology, Marketing, and Client Experience to identify key considerations and solutions that move clients toward achieving their goals.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Fidelity's products and solutions and the FI platform, as well as our competitive position within the marketplace.
