Job Description

The Nordic Naturals Website Architect and Web Engineering Team Lead will define the technical strategy, and manage the execution of projects enhancing our Magento2 E-commerce site, including supporting associated applications and integrations, and migrating various Legacy websites to the Magento2 platform. Our new Website Architect and Web Engineering Team Lead will review and help estimate the project pipeline by working closely with business units and project managers and with the engineering team itself, and will lead the engineering team by managing the execution of development tasks of engineering team members, and by providing training and review/guidance on Magento2 coding techniques and adherence to Mangeto2 coding standards and enforcing code maintainability. The Website Architect and Web Engineering Lead will also write code and program more advanced or new features as an individual contributor.

The Website Architect and Web Engineering Team Lead will manage the development of the technical architecture and project strategy, oversee software development, and assist in QA testing, software deployments, managing cloud Servers and site operations.

In this role you will:

  • Determine optimal architectural, technical design and feature design decisions for our Magento2 E-commerce sites.
  • Assist business units in setting feature roadmap and achieving E-commerce sales and growth goals.
  • Oversee and manage the engineering team consisting of Front End and Back End engineers
  • Execute the implementation of new features on Magento2 using off-the-shelf Magento extensions and/or developing custom Magento extensions as necessary.
  • Program more advanced and challenging features on the Magento2 platform as an individual contributor
  • Manage Git releases, pull requests, code reviews, merges, deployments to Magento Commerce Cloud.
  • Develop integrations with API-driven third-party applications such as our ERP system.
  • Ensure compliance with web standards for accessibility requirements.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and help fix any front-end, back-end, technical or functional issues.
  • Help maintain clean, documented code adhering to Magento2 coding standard.
  • Focus on site speed and scalability to provide the best possible customer experience.
  • Manage Magento2 platform version upgrades and the associated testing and deployment required
  • Embrace and learn new technologies and provide thought leadership to provide better customer experience and better, delightful features and solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Magento2 Certified Professional Developer certificate is a precondition for employment.
    (Certification on Magento1 will not be considered)
  • Demonstrated multiple years of Magento2 professional programming experience
  • Demonstrated technical leadership on Magento2 platform and framework projects
  • Demonstrated team leadership on Magento2 platform engineering projects.
  • Experience and skills with Magento2 Commerce Cloud hosting is highly desired
  • Expert in .git version control and release management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of docker environments and composer package manager.
  • Very strong skills in PHP OOP, as well as Javascript, CSS and HTML5.
  • Very strong skills in E-commerce website design and development
  • Accustomed to working with external QA Team
  • Accustomed to working with DevOps and can help us toward achieving Continuous Integration
  • Working experience with various PHP frameworks and Javascript frameworks
  • Working experience with AWS tools such as EC2, RDS, S3, etc.
  • Very strong skills in Relational Database programming, design, and database management.
  • Experience with responsive design techniques.
  • Experience with custom module implementation within Magento2.
  • Knowledge of Web standards and accessibility.
  • Experience with Web Services (REST/SOAP)/Integration of Backend Systems
  • Expert in Atlassian suite, BitBucket, Jira, Confluence.
  • Expert in Agile Scrum Methodology.
  • Experience with ERP migrations
  • Experience with Regex, and Python scripting
  • Strong ability to build, lead, and mentor a team of engineers

Certifications &Licenses:

  • Magento2 Certified Professional Developer Certification
  • 2 years of direct Magento 2.0 experience required
  • 5 years of overall Magento experience a plus
  • Experience with ERP integrations a plus
  • 5 years of engineering team management and team leadership experience
