The National Team Lead - Hospitality Banking is responsible for the overall management and coordination of Corporate Banking activities for a team of Relationship Managers and Underwriters within a geographic location or industry segment. This role will be personally responsible for commercial loan production including examination, evaluation, and authorizing approval of customer applications for commercial loans. This Team Lead leverages their own personal resources and industry contacts in order to ensure their team aggressively competes for loan and deposit relationships with hospitality clients, specifically within the Bank's geographic lending area or with clients in a specific industry segment. In addition, this position originates, monitors and renews loan relationships consistent with the Bank's policies and procedures.

Major Areas of Accountability:
Lead the team's performance for originating, analyzing, structuring and closing profitable loan transactions.
Attract, develop and retain top talent within the team to ensure continuous improvement in performance for the company and professional development for the team members. Maintain and confirm credit worthiness of customers.
Gather, review and track appropriate documentation from applicants. Make decisions on loans and terms if within own lending limits.
Identify potential new market segments within the assigned geographic territory, and partner with the Head of National Commercial Real Estate to ensure opportunities are in alignment with the Commercial Bank strategy and consistent with the Bank's tolerance for risk.
Engage and provide direction to the Bank's contracted professionals including attorneys, accountants, consultants, appraisers, title companies, and necessary government agencies to ensure successful transactions.
Provide guidance and direction to the Bank's internal support personnel to ensure proper and accurate completion of loan transactions and day to day operational requirements.
Promote and cross-sell other bank products and services as appropriate to customer requirements including business checking and treasury management products. Refer business or property owners to the branches for consumer deposit and loan products.
Provide management information on all key factors of the bank, the portfolio, client relationships and the competitive environment.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent work experience; MBA in Finance or Accounting preferred.
Minimum of seven years of commercial real estate lending experience.
Direct underwriting and portfolio management experience.
Ability to properly structure loans to minimize risk to the Bank; knowledgeable of negotiating, structuring, and closing commercial loan transactions.
Strong analytical and credit skills. High level of interpersonal and sales skills to compete effectively, present proposals to client and recommend loan transactions to Bank's senior management.
Experience in hospitality banking strongly preferred.
