Human Resources Operations - Manage HR related issues including employee relations, performance management, hiring needs, compensation, and promotions. Create an effective professional development program for staff in the SON that encourages quality, continuous improvement, and high performance. Review and advise on staff job descriptions submitted by supervisors to ensure proper formatting and accurate representation of position functions. Counsel supervisors regarding performance appraisal process. Coordinate recruitment efforts with hiring managers. Supervise the day to day operations of HR and Facilities Staff members. Ensure timely and accurate administration of timesheets, certification, and leave administration. Manage monthly staff HCM time approval processes to ensure all nursing staff employees adhere to policies. Train new employees on procedures. Attend bi-monthly facility meetings. Ensure compliance with safety and security policies. (40%)
Facility Operations-Coordinate and lead all planning task forces for both the Nursing Research Campus and Health Education Campus. In coordination with the Assoc. Dean of Finance, coordinate all space requests for both nursing campuses. Actively participate in meetings and discussions to configure space designated to the SON. Analyze classroom, simulation, research, and lab utilization data to maximize use for SON sessions. Oversee facilities and maintenance at the Nursing Research Campus, and serve as a liaison for facilities and maintenance issues with CBRE for the Health Education Campus (30%)
Financial Operations- Work with the Associate Dean of Finance and the Finance Director on reconciliation of monthly statements and preparation of reports for Dean and Provost review. Understand budget reports and projections to assist with departmental reviews. Monitor budgets and review budget records alongside the finance department. Analyze enrollment numbers and prepare weekly reports. Develop and implement processes to ensure compliance and good stewardship over School and University resources. Meet individually with graduate and teaching assistants each semester to complete contracts and payroll forms. Generate and manage Part -time Lecturer contracts. (20%)
Administrative Operations- Work with the Dean, Associate Deans, Program Directors and Executive Staff in strategic planning, and accountability. Serve as facilitator and be capable of working with diverse groups of people to build consensus and proactively solve problems. Research issues and questions of concern as requested or suggested by the Associate Dean and provide detailed summaries of information needed in written, verbal, or presentation mode. Serve as an administrative representative for the school on university committees and work groups as needed. Manage the development and direct the implementation of administrative goals, objectives, policies and procedures, priorities and work standards for each assigned service area. Manage faculty travel requests. (10%)
NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform other duties as assigned.
Actively participate in and maintain familiarity with the School of Nursing's mission and strategic plan.
Attend university training sessions to keep up to date with policies and procedures.
Awareness of the importance and sensitivity of the Deans' functions
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with administration, faculty, staff, students, and external constituents of the School.
Thorough knowledge of the culture and organization of the academic institution
