The Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Arts & Sciences seeks a Program Manager to join our departmental office team that supports the administrative goals of the department in working with faculty, staff, and students.
Responsibilities
- The department s Graduate Program including admissions, certification and data management, Graduate Assistant appointments, scholarship budgeting and processing, as well as handling the department s human resources needs.
- Department Human Resources needs with faculty and staff searches and appointments, student worker and work study student hiring; processing international Faculty/Post Doctoral Fellows/Students immigration requests and needs; and processing Volunteer appointments for the department.
- Departmental reappointment, promotion and tenure processes
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree with three (3) years of experience; -OR- Associate s Degree with five (5) years of experience; -OR- Seven years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Detail-oriented, independent worker who manages time efficiently
High aptitude for learning new tasks quickly
Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel Outlook
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Respects issues of confidentiality
Ability to multi-task, with work distractions
Ability to work in a team setting
