  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field

  • Experience with ADP and Kronos desired

  • Experience with recruitment/employee on-boarding

  • General knowledge of HR practices and law, ie ADA, Title VII

  • Ability to work with others and exhibit patience and flexibility

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Computer proficiency

  • Excellent time management skills; ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Attention to detail

  • Excellent organizational skills


  • Reviews applications, interviews and schedules applicants for follow-up interviews.

  • Conducts human resources portion of new hire orientation.

  • Enters and maintains data in HRIS on a timely basis.

  • Maintains employee and medical files, ensuring that necessary information has been obtained and stays current; keeps files in an organized manner.

  • Implements the criminal background check procedure and handles any follow-ups needed.

  • Oversees the performance evaluation system during the introductory period.

  • Performs reference checks for all new employees.

  • Processes all status changes.

  • Tracks and reports turnover statistics.

  • Responds to unemployment requests.

  • Participates in training for substance abuse program and presents training to staff as designated.

  • Attends regular staff and/or committee meetings as required.
