Summary

Set up and operate a variety of machine tools (lathes, CNC, mills, grinders, and drill presses) to produce precision parts and manufacturing equipment. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. The position must perform accurate and timely machining duties at an intermediate level. The ideal candidate is an organized self-starter with the ability to work efficiently and effectively to meet or exceed the customer's quality and delivery requirements. This shop operates 24/7 and is looking for a candidates for both 2 nd shift ( 3pm-11pm) and 3rd shift (11pm - 7:00 am). Currently 2nd shift is a high priority for us right now!

Responsibilities
  • Turns or mills parts into finished parts
  • Reads blueprints during operations
  • Layout and setup machine
  • Grinds & sharpens cutting tools
  • Calibrates measuring instruments
  • Work with engineers to determine machining
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Experience
  • Safety conscious of self and others
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to reads micrometers, dial indicators and vernier calipers
  • Ability to perform math skills as related to machining of parts (decimals, fractions, trigonometry, geometry)
  • Knowledgeable on machinist skills (speed/feed ratios, sequence of machining operations, and heat treatment)
  • Experience operating manual CNC machines
  • Lockout/tagout, PPE
  • CPR and First Aid Training
  • WI basic safety training
  • Machinist or equivalent certificate preferred
  • Ability to work as a team as well as independently

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
