Department Overview

The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E s electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.

Position Summary

Develops specifications and contract documents for the performance of technical and construction services. Bids, evaluates, negotiates, and prepares contract documents for the acquisition of goods or services in accordance with procurement policies and standard practices. Manages the contracts and ensures contract compliance.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Billing Compliance:
    • Audits contract invoices to ensure billing amounts are consistent with terms and conditions of the contract.
    • Resolves contract-related issues concerning invoicing and goods receipt posting. Monitors invoice charges by line item in Ariba to ensure correct assignment.
    • Monitors accruals and assist Contract Field Operation Supervisor in preparation of monthly reporting.
    • Works with Project Managers, Field Engineers, Contract Field Operation Supervisor, and Contractors to ensure all parties adhere to contract requirements and specifications.
    • Oversees clerical staff in goods receipt posting. Manage contractor relationships to continually improve contractor invoicing.
  • Change Orders Management:
    • Assists in the review and validation of Change Order Requests from contractors. Track and report Change Order metrics to Contract Field Operations and Project Management.
  • Contract Administration:
    • Develops contract documents for technical and construction services with a focus on compliance with contract terms and conditions and corporate contract standard practices, policies, and procedures.
    • Prepares Ariba shopping carts for CWA and Contract Change Order CWA and works closely with Sourcing Specialist in contract execution.
    • Receives and reviews contract invoices and coordinates authorization for payment.
    • Maintains and updates Contract Checkbook and Change Order Tracker for responsible region to ensure budget compliance.
    • Assists Contract Field Operation Supervisors and Field Engineers in forecasting and tracking of contract savings.
  • Contract Closeout:
    • Working with Contract Field Operation Supervisors and Field Engineers and Sourcing to verify contractual obligations have been successfully met and payment of the final invoice has been issued prior to closing the contract in Ariba.



  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or Business Management, or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience in construction contract negotiations and administration experience


  • Strong computer skills using databases, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic office management skills (phones, filing, use of office equipment, etc…)
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
