Position Summary:
Responsible for the timely completion of routine maintenance and emergency repairs of the DC truck fleet.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled routine maintenance and diagnostics including but not limited to tire changes/rotations, electrical and mechanical system checks.
  • Perform emergency repairs as identified by drivers and inspections i. e. brakes, vehicle lighting.
  • Proficiently perform mig and stick welding operations when and where required including but not limited to cutting, braising, fabricating and routine maintenance.
  • Other Duties:
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Replace worn and/or malfunctioning parts.
  • Advise management of all safety related concerns.
  • Decision Making Responsibilities:
    All decision making responsibilities are under the direct supervision of the DC Traffic Manager. All work is performed within standard policies/procedures and DOT regulations.
    Financial Responsibilities:
    This position has no financial responsibilities.
    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
    Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    Must be certifiable and proficient in Air Brake systems.
    Basic knowledge of vehicle wiring, alternators, starters, relays, fuel solenoids and other related parts.
    Solid welding proficiency with mig and stick.
    Must be able to mount, dismount and patch truck tires.
    Position requires long periods of working while on a ladder and long periods working underneath equipment.
    Training:
    This position will be provided with departmental and/or company training as needed.

    Lift and/or move- Indicated in pounds 10% (no more than 75 lbs)
