Overview
The Strategic Technical Consultant (STC) is responsible for leading the services delivery for a designated customer, district or region. This responsibility includes leading large and/or complex deliveries, delivery of new and updated services, assisting in service development, and training technical consultants. Specifically, candidates for this position should have experience leading a delivery team to design, architect, implement, and integrate Htiachi Vantara solutions into customer environments. Reporting Structure The STC will report to the Managing Principal who is responsible for managing the region. The delivery team consists of a project manager, engagement manager, and district PTC. The STC is an individual contributor role, but will be viewed as a team leader during professional service deliveries. Key Activities: Lead Large, Complex Customer Deliveries The STC will be the senior technical leader responsible for ensuring the technical success of the professional services delivery. This may require a combination of coaching of junior consultants, leading design and planning efforts, troubleshooting, escalation management, and hands-on delivery. The STC will work closely with the project manager to ensure project status is communicated, a plan is in place, and progress is being made to project closure. Assist in Delivery Kit Development The STC will assist with creation of new delivery collateral and maintenance of existing delivery collateral. This will include creating and modifying project definition documents, creating tools to assist with determining level of effort for a service, creating and modifying delivery checklists, creating and modifying pre-engagement checklists and creating and modifying customer facing final solution documentation. Train and Mentor Technical Consultants The STC will coach and train technical consultants. This will be done by on-the-job training as technical consultants engage with the STC during professional services delivery as well as by more formal knowledge transfer conducted via WebEx, in person, or in lab scenarios. The STC must always be working to drive delivery knowledge throughout the technical consulting team. Deliver New and Updated Services The STC will deliver new and updated services as they are created. The STC will be the first to learn about new service delivery offerings and will be the first to deliver new services in the field. The STC will deliver these new offerings and train technical consultants on the job to drive delivery knowledge into the delivery team.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Provide technical oversight for assigned professional services engagements and drive high levels of customer satisfaction.
Drive the technical success of professional services engagements by coaching technical consultants, leading design discussions, troubleshooting, and delivering as needed.
Articulate the overall services solution and subsequent service delivery plan to implement the solution to the customer in terms the customer and understand.
Build relationships with Engagement Managers, Project Managers, Account Consultants, Solutions Consultants, and Solution Business Managers engaged in service opportunities.
Work with the project manager to provide regular communication to SBMs, project managers, SSPs, account consultants and solutions consultants about the status of professional services engagements.
Create and organize new service delivery collateral.
Update and maintain existing service collateral.
Provide the initial delivery of new and updated services with a shadow.
Coach, train, and mentor technical consultants on-the-job and in lab settings to drive delivery knowledge throughout the technical consulting team.
Listen to customer needs and map customer challenges to GSS services and solutions.
