Position Summary
Jacobs Energy and Power Solutions Group in Fort Worth, TX has a rewarding opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer focusing on power generation applications. Candidate will be responsible for leading master plan studies, analyses, detailed design and construction oversite specifically related to electrical systems for power generation applications.
Supervising design and production team resources
Coordinating electrical interconnection of new generation to the utility power grid
System modeling and calculations including lightning protection, grounding, load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash analyses
Protective relay setting development, calculation, and coordination studies, including SCADA and SEL RTAC systems
Development of construction document packages including required specifications and drawings that will be utilized for bidding and construction
Witness factory acceptance and/or site testing of electrical equipment such as switchgear, high voltage breakers, transformers, and generation control equipment
Client interface and communication and coordination with contractors and outside parties
  • Training/mentoring of junior staff, quality control, engineering design and analysis
Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering is required
Minimum 6 years experience in the design of Energy and Power projects that include power generation, combined heat and power, utility transmission and distribution required
Professional Registration (P.E.) is required, or ability to obtain within one year
Task lead experience including scope and fee development, and track record of successfully executing projects while meeting established schedule and budget requirements
Ability to direct a team of electrical engineers and designers in the production of design packages using 3D AutoCAD, Revit, SmartPlant or equivalent
Industrial power plant electrical systems evaluation and design preferred; related experience in chemical, petroleum, nuclear and other power plants is acceptable
System modeling experience using SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar modeling software is preferred
  • Some travel required
