Responsibilities: What you ll do
  • Oversee the internal financial reporting and the consolidation of the financial statements and related activities in accordance with US GAAP
  • Enhance monthly field packages for our subsidiaries
  • Plan, organize and coordinate year-end close process including financial statement audit
  • Monitor latest Accounting Standard Updates (ASUs); write technical accounting memos and work closely with accounting team to implement new accounting standards
  • Provide guidance and training on unusual or complex accounting topics with the accounting team
  • Work with functional leads to develop, implement and maintain accounting policies
  • Drive efforts to appropriately train personnel regarding inter-company activities
  • Implement and administer Blackline
  • Ensure compliance with and continually improve internal controls
  • Lead ongoing process improvement initiatives
  • Complete special projects and other ad hoc requests
  • Envision and lead efforts to continue maturing the finance and accounting organization, systems and processes so that they scale both efficiently and effectively, while ensuring that appropriate controls continue to be institutionalized throughout the Company
  • Work with FP&A leadership to develop standard analytical tools to further aid operating groups in their financial planning and analysis, and provide training to key stakeholders impacted by planning and forecasting activities
  • Partner closely with all levels of Leadership to support and grow the business and ensure that best Accounting principles are followed while simultaneously reinforcing and instilling the defined Values of Peraton s finance department
  • Create, communicate, and execute strategic initiatives across a complex and expanding organization
  • Support due diligence and integration efforts associated with the accounting function of Target companies
  • Ensure Peraton adheres to all relevant standards and principles including: General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), CAS, FAR, statutory accounting regulations for various international locations
Qualifications You d be a great fit if
  • You have a Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and 12+ years experience
  • You can show 5+ years of overseeing financial reporting and 2+ years consolidation experience
  • You have a strong knowledge of US GAAP and Government Contracting
  • You have experience leading process improvement initiatives
  • You are a self-starter, team player, problem solver, and possess a high degree of integrity
It d be even better if you
  • Have experience within a Management Consulting/Professional Services firm in a government contracting environment
  • Have your CPA license
  • Have previous experience in public accounting
  • Have working knowledge of FAR and CAS
  • Have advanced Excel skills
  • Possess excellent writing and presentation/communication skills
  • Have superb analytical and qualitative strategic thinking capabilities and outstanding influencing and collaboration skills
  • Have Costpoint experience
  • Excel at working well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
