Job Role Summary

The Procurement Associate for Pipeline Industrial Gases has overall responsibility to drive value and efficiency and expand market advantage via end-to-end category management (from strategy to implementation), while ensuring operational integrity. The Procurement Associate is expected to manage the North American portfolio in the support of Refining and Chemical manufacturing activities, as it relates to the purchase of Industrial Gases.

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of agreements within the Pipeline Industrial Gases category
  • The portfolio is comprised of
  • Steward tactical Client relationship for key portfolio activities; key business interfaces include Manufacturing Site Teams and Refining Executive Leadership
  • Support Category Specialist in development and implementation of category specific strategy and commercial guidance
  • Support North America growth projects across Manufacturing (Refining and Chemicals)
  • Provide portfolio specific information to Category Specialist and other network Procurement Associates
  • Identify business value and agreement rationalization opportunities within the portfolio
  • Process execution, full compliance with ExxonMobil controls culture
  • Ensure transactional efficiency of agreements (enterprise resource planning friendly agreements)
  • Active contribution in Category networks and use of category specific information
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Support Procurement Associate work at other sites/regions as agreed with Category Specialists

Job Requirements

  • BS, MBA, MS in Engineering, Supply Chain, or other applicable business degrees
  • Strong analytical, leadership, negotiation and communication skills

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • A minimum of 3 years of contracting experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of downstream procurement and/or Sales experience
  • Category/commodity expertise
  • Procurement/commercial functional expertise
  • Experience supporting Refining and/or Chemical manufacturing businesses
  • Experience working in a co-located fashion with supported clients
  • Understanding of client business and objectives
  • Leadership skills/Communication skills
  • Analytical skills/understanding of total system cost concept
  • Effective negotiation, advocacy and influencing skills
  • Knowledge of purchase to pay process including enterprise resource planning systems
  • Project planning/execution skills
