The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for managing the overall strategy, processes as well as the execution of gross margin expansion initiatives by way of PPV, VAVE, Indirect and logistics cost savings. Theposition will lead overall supply chain and procurement initiatives for the Operating Company, reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations.
Manages a team of professional buyers and commodity managers in both providing corporate level supply chain support to the factories as well as executing on projects and initiatives to drive material, indirect and logistics spend productivity
Accountable for both funnel development as well as execution of material, indirect and logistics cost savings initiatives that consistently meets or exceeds savings targets set forth.
A steward of the balance sheet that can drive working capital improvements through payable terms expansion and inventory turns increase.
Represents the department or function internally and externally at peer level and one to two levels above (ie directors and VP's).
Support and provide guidance to the factories in the use of the Fortive Materials System to support material flow.
A highly visible and engaged leader in product life cycle management. Plays a key role in positioning the supply chain for both New Product Introductions as well as sunsetting products.
Understands and pays attention to changing macro-economic, geo-political, supply/demand and technology trends as potential influencers to commodity supply and cost.
Minimum 8 years of overall experience working in the field of supply chain management and procurement, including in roles such as buyer, planner, scheduler and commodity manager.
At least 3 years of people leadership experience with a track record of getting results through others.
A relatable leader who can inspire a team and garner followership in the process.
The ideal candidate has a blend of technical, analytical and business acumen, including a curiosity to learn and apply emerging technologies.
A strong understanding of lean manufacturing and how the supply chain fits into a lean eco-system is required.
Functional understanding of both national and international law is it relates to country-of-origin, trade compliance, conflict minerals as well as sourcing with both corporate and social responsibility in mind.
Ability to influence other stakeholders through sound logic and business savvy.
Persistent and resourceful in working through obstacles in order to reach the goal.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Well versed in ERP, MRP, Microsoft Suite, and Business Intelligence applications.
Experience with data analytics, IT architectures as well as experience with implementing Industry 4.0 to improve supply chain performance highly desired.
4 year degree required, preferably in an engineering related field.
Ample on-going training in the field of supply chain and procurement since entering the workforce highly desired.
