This position is specific to Lids' Store and Employee Systems team and as such will be working closely with store, field management and Human Resources in the support of systems dealing with store attributes, point of sale systems, employee information, hours tracking, payroll calculations, and dashboard reporting

General Summary:

The Application Developer is responsible for designing, building, and testing of software code that supports and enables Lids' functional business system activities. The individual works with the Application Development team and various project teams, coordinating application development planning and testing, as well as developing enhancements that enable a positive end-user experience. The Application Developer is responsible for communicating project status, any technical issues uncovered and their resolution.

The Application Developer produces application programs in accordance with a specified business need, while following the Lids' IT technical development standards and processes.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of Senior Application Developers, and/or the Application Developer Team Lead, the Application Developer is responsible for:

. The planning, design, modification, and development of software programming applications.

. Identification of data sources, providing data flow diagrams and documentation of processes.

. Writing code for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures.

. Designing, reviewing, analyzing, and modifying programming systems including encoding, testing and debugging to support the organization's application systems.

. Consulting with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives.

. Continually enhancing and expanding technical knowledge of the systems and tools utilized by the Lids IT.

. Supporting and adhering to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including maintaining an in-depth awareness of all compliance related requirements.

. Communicating with employees at all levels of the company.

. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Job Required Knowledge, Skills and Education

. Extensive knowledge of the manufacturing and distribution industry and its functions including the following areas: Finance, Manufacturing, Sales Order Entry, Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, Retail Sales, and Merchandising.

. In-depth understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and is fluent in multiple programming languages and expert users of application development tools, such as TOAD, Visual Studio, .net framework, SQL server, Oracle, PHP, MySQL, JAVA.

. Strong interpersonal skills and the willingness to teach and mentor Associate Application Developers and other IT individuals.

. Willingness to learn from other associates.

. Good knowledge of project management methodologies and requirements.

. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence or persuade others in positive or negative circumstances.

. Ability to manage tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.

. Strong commitment to customer service.

. Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

. Willingness and ability to accept after-hours support calls and the dedication to resolve after-hours calls to resolution, as necessary to support the business.

. Ability and willingness for extended travel (business meetings and/or training).
