Salary Information:
Our Correctional Officer positions start at a rate of $16.00 per hour; the salary for other positions within the Department of Correction may differ dependent on the role for which you apply.


This event is intended for candidates who are interested in a career with the Indiana Department of Correction. Candidates need the following:

  • A high school diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE) and/or 2 years of comparable experience.
  • Alertness and ability to act quickly and effectively in an emergency;
  • Ability to keep abreast of progress and study in the field of corrections;
  • Ability to understand and utilize firearms properly;
  • Willingness to participate in training programs as required by the Department of Correction;
  • Willingness to undergo a background investigation.
