Staff Accountant

They are a key leader in multiple global markets, including oilseed processing, animal feed, breakfast cereal, snack food, biofuels and metal-packaging. Their expertise is in the design, production and marketing of high-quality, efficient, durable process systems, equipment and after-market parts.

Our client is looking for a Staff Accountant in their Waterloo, IA location to join their corporate accounting team. We look forward to a discussion with you, if you have serious interest in this opportunity.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A CORPORATE ACCOUNTANT

  • Conduct corporate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare global multi-currency consolidating financial statements and other consolidating reports
  • Maintain the corporate general ledger and support business unit controllers with local general ledgers
  • Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations
  • Perform corporate debt and intangible asset reconciliations and prepare related journal entries
  • Assist business unit controllers with month-end close and financial reporting for their business units
  • Key contributor to global annual financial statement audit and assist business unit controllers with the global annual financial statement audit and local statutory audits
  • Prepare monthly US income tax provision and support annual US income tax return preparation
  • Support global cash management initiatives
  • Prepare monthly intercompany reconciliations, calculate and invoice corporate charges and assist business unit controllers with intercompany balances and adherence to transfer pricing policies
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in accounting processes and internal controls
  • Assist business unit controllers with adhering to corporate accounting policies and application of US GAAP
  • Assist with finance integration for new business acquisitions
  • Participation on global corporate projects as directed

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO BE QUALIFIED AS A CORPORATE ACCOUNTANT

  • Experience with standard costing in a manufacturing environment utilizing an ERP system
  • Experience leading or supporting accounting, financial analysis, financial reporting and internal controls in a global enterprise
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Demonstrated understanding of US GAAP
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Must be engaging, proactive and eager to take on new challenges.
  • Communication, timing, attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
  • Organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation skills
  • Conflict management skills
  • The ability to travel on occasion

IF YOU HAVE THESE SKILLS, YOU ARE IN HIGH DEMAND!

  • Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Experience in public accounting (performing audits of global enterprises)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (active or inactive) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
