Job Summary:

This Compressor Mechanical Engineer will work with the Trane HVAC Compressor Engineering Group in La Crosse, Wisconsin. We are responsible for design, analysis, testing, validation, and engineering support of centrifugal compressors. You will be given a wide variety of assignments where you apply the theoretical and practical side of engineering to improve our products. Limited travel to customers and suppliers may be required depending on the assignment.
Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):
  • Make design changes to centrifugal compressors that improve reliability, reduce cost, and increase sales through product line extensions.
  • Design and implement mechanical enhancements to existing centrifugal compressors.
  • Collaborate with other centrifugal compressor mechanical engineers as required to resolve customer, factory and supplier design problems.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Provide mechanical engineering support to laboratory technicians, manufacturing engineering, suppliers and operations.
  • Correlate engineering analysis results to compressor laboratory tests.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and an I nternship or Co-op (or similar experience) is required.
