Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Executive Director - Audit Services is to direct all department operations in Las Vegas, including the risk assessment, planning and performance of audit work. Additionally, the Executive Director - Audit Services is globally responsible for all IT, Cyber, SOX, Data Analytics, and FCPA audits.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.'s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare comprehensive annual risk assessments and long-range programs of audit coverage in Las Vegas consistent with company and departmental goals for the responsible areas.
  • Direct the performance of internal audit work in Las Vegas, including preparation of audit specific planning memoranda, work programs, audit work papers and reports to ensure they address risks and achieve stated objectives within budgeted hours and expected timelines.
  • Lead global IT, Cyber, SOX, Data Analytics, and FCPA audit teams to ensure execution of approved global audit plans.
  • Establish and maintain the Department's SOPs.
  • Ensure the department's work is performed in accordance with the Company and IIA standards.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with management, independent public accountants and regulatory auditors. Coordinate work with external auditors and second lines of defense in areas of responsibility.
  • Review and approve all internal audit findings and recommendations for areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure prompt and appropriate reporting of high risk audit findings and compliance violations.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness of operations while maintaining adequate controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Maintain current knowledge of professional standards, anti-money laundering, gaming, SOX, and other regulations.
  • Provide status report of progress and execution of the audit plan to the Vice President.
  • Provide input and direction in the development and monitoring of departmental budgets.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives and projects under the direction of the Vice President to develop a world class internal audit function.
  • Hire, train, develop, and evaluate internal audit staff (or assist as required) ensuring that the processes encompass the company's diversity commitment; compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.

Company Standards of Conduct

Minimum Qualifications
  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent. MBA a plus.
  • CPA or CIA a requirement. CISA or CFE a plus.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board license and any other certifications or licenses, as required by law or policy.
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting/auditing.
  • Big Four public accounting experience highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of IT, Cyber, Data Analytics highly desirable. Working knowledge of Gaming audits a plus.
  • Ability to direct audit assignments from the planning stage through final report issuance.
  • Experienced in performing annual risk assessment and evaluating information to render an opinion or take action based on that information that will impact the department or function. Have significant company financial and managerial responsibility for all company resources under direction to include: budget, labor, and material resources.
  • Possess skills to hasten resolution, assess course of action, and implement or take action based upon findings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Exhibit executive presence and the ability to communicate effectively to Senior Management.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and busy environment. Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • High ethical standards, level of commitment and ability to cope with complexity and change.
  • Exhibits outstanding leadership, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
