Pricing Manager

The Pricing Manager will utilize their research knowledge, employ good questioning and communication skills, and work closely with Client Service to understand the overarching client business need to provide best in class research design recommendations, cost, and pricing in a timely manner. It will be essential for this person to develop/maintain trust and credibility with the people they work with and must be confident as an authority when interfacing across the business. They will constructively confront and overcome problems to ensure successful outcomes even in complex, unique and changing circumstances.
The Pricing Manager will also have a strong understanding of our internal processes to ensure that research is implemented in an appropriate and cost-effective manner. They will actively review pricing with appropriate teams in an effort to contribute to better pricing decisions, thus improving our financial health. This person will also share and offer recommendations to improve ways of working or improve inefficiencies. The Pricing Manager must be well-versed in all methodologies and sampling methods within a specific domain/area of knowledge.

  • Develop and maintain trusted advisor relationships with the Business Development team, Client Services, Project Management, and Operations teams
  • Join proposal huddles to understand client business issues and research design
  • Work directly with Business Development and Client Services to provide best in class study design recommendations, costs and pricing across products and solutions
  • Develop high complexity estimates
  • Use approved costing and pricing tools to develop a cost and recommended price
  • Provide consistent, simplified summary of assumptions and deliverables
  • Use reference materials and checklists to ensure no aspects of costing are missed when creating an estimate
  • Liaise with various internal teams (Operations, CS, PM, Analytics), as needed, to obtain costing inputs and sign offs
  • Ensure sampling design and efficiencies are utilized on every estimated project to meet company s overall target savings
  • For substantial scope change, supporting pricing for revised cost estimate
  • Provide recommendations regarding tool and process efficiencies to maximize productivity
  • Actively support management of internal databases and knowledge management libraries (from the proposal to project completion stage)
  • Support the roll-out of new processes and technologies as they apply to costing/pricing
  • Bachelor s degree in marketing or related area is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of pricing, project management, and/or market research operations experience
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a commitment to details and the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities at any time
