Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Education and Psychology seeks an experienced leader to serve as its Associate Director of Admissions and Enrollment. This position is responsible for the admissions and enrollment efforts reporting directly to the Executive Director of Marketing and Enrollment and supervising all admissions staff and processes. The leader will integrate mission-consistent enrollment strategies and develop processes that support the advancement of university goals. The Associate Director provides direction and leadership to the office of Enrollment and Admissions and works closely with Directors and Faculty in support of the Schools vision, mission and strategic goals. The Associate Director cultivates relationships and serves as a liaison with the colleges subunits to coordinate efforts that ensure synergistic activities to achieve the goals associated with colleges marketing enrollment plans. The Associate Director provides leadership of University efforts to recruit qualified and diverse graduate students for academic programs. Formulation of comprehensive strategies for the effective use of technology to facilitate prospect and applicant management; and increasing the Universitys visibility in order to achieve our goals of securing an increased number of admissions applications and conversions to enrolled status, becoming a global institution, and aligning our core academic strengths with our marketing messages.

Duties

Lead the admissions team through all aspects of the admissions process including the collection, evaluation, and distribution of documents and information related to their admissions file.
Develop strategy, direction, coordination, and assessment for admissions initiatives; oversee Admissions department priorities and staff; develop and implement a recruitment plan aimed at achieving enrollment goals.
Cultivate, convey, and display a positive, motivational and inspirational attitude to the admissions staff. Lead by example and maintain the departments collaborative culture and work ethic by providing a caring and supportive environment.
Ensure staff maintains telephone and electronic contact and initiate correspondence with prospective students, including appropriate and consistent follow-up.
Closely monitor trends, research, and best practices in higher education market and other industries; uphold University mission through work performed; and other duties as assigned.
Provide leadership in planning, developing, executing, and assessing a strategic enrollment management plan for the University. Advise the Executive Director of Marketing and Enrollment on admissions matters, particularly operations, staffing, budget, data analytics, and policy development.
Works in sync with the marketing department, sharing feedback on the quality of leads by outreach effort and making plan/program suggestions, as appropriate.
Oversee informational campus sessions and visits for prospective students and their guests.
Represent GSEP at conferences, alumni conferences and other functions as it pertains to the Enrollment Management Plan.
Guide creation and maintenance of prospective student files in both printed and electronic forms.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Actively promote the Universitys mission and highest standards of academic excellence, purpose, service and leadership.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelors Degree in related discipline; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired required. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, admissions knowledge, project and financial management skills and a proven track record of using state-of-the-art approaches to recruit and enroll domestic and international students. Alignment with University mission of service, purpose and leadership. Ability to work within a diverse community and establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with faculty, staff, industry partners, campus partners, and the public in a manner that promotes a positive image of the University. Political acumen, diplomacy and confidentiality; a clear and confident communication style that shows integrity and represents the University with the highest degree of professionalism. Strategic planning, analytical, and program evaluation skills to effectively provide sound recommendations, continually examine systems, and develop or revise to accommodate change requirements. Demonstrated management, leadership, and supervision experience, strong conflict management skills, excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to motivate a dynamic staff of multiple behavior styles while building team cohesion and collaboration. Experience working with Project Management Software, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Suite, and Apple Keynote preferred.

Preferred: Familiarity with higher education goals, structures, and communication standards, and ability to understand, analyze and present relevant information to a variety of audiences preferred. Masters degree preferred. Experience with marketing and outreach tactics for recruitment efforts to support lead generation and conversion in the areas of recruitment. Ability to stay up-to-date on emerging communications technologies and ability to cultivate media contacts.
